The Campus at Channel Islands

Channel Islands (CSUCI) is the newest campus of the California State University CSU 23 campuses system. Surrounded by lemon groves and strawberry fields, the campus is nestled against the foothills of the Santa Monica mountains. It is located approx. 20 minutes from Malibu iconic beaches and one hour from Los Angeles LAX international airport. It's a few minutes drive from the famous Camarillo outlet mall, the Pacific Highway and the beautiful beaches of Oxnard and Port Huneme. The campus features a spectacular Norman Foster designed library, evening activities areas, a swimming pool and many sport fields.

Your Stay

The campus features Spanish-missionary style architecture. You will be accommodated in the comfortable Santa Cruz Village building.

Housing

Accommodation in mini apartments with twin rooms sharing an en-suite bathroom and a vanity area within the apartment. Thanks to the balmy California weather, residence halls do not feature A/C. Linens and towels are provided. Beach towels are not provided.

Meals

The University offers excellent meals in a state-of-the-art recently built cafeteria. Full board Monday through Friday. Half board (breakfast and dinner) on Saturday and Sunday. No lunch service on Saturday and Sunday.

English Program

15 clock hours per week in international classes of maximum 20 students. The English course is offered at 5 levels, from B1 to C2.

Leisure & Cultural Programs

The program will take you to the most famous places in the Los Angeles area and beyond. As part of our California experience, you will embark on an unforgettable 3-day adventure to two of the most iconic destinations in the U.S. - Las Vegas and the Grand Canyon, starting with a scenic drive through the Mojave Desert!

Excursions:

Beverly Hills/Hollywood Walk of Fame and dinner at Hard Rock Café; Venice beach, Griffith Observatory, Getty Museum and The Grove, Santa Barbara, Malibu Zuma Beach, Camarillo Outlet Mall, Santa Monica

Trips:

To Las Vegas, Hoover Dam and the Grand Canyon (includes ovenight in Las Vegas)

First day: Campus to Las Vegas. Check in at hotel. Walking time around the Strip. Dinner allowance.

Second day: Drive to Grand Canyon West Rim. Time for visit. Return to Las Vegas. Free evening with dinner allowance.

Third day: Check out. Drive to Calico Ghost town. Visit. Stop for lunch. Back to campus. Dinner on campus.

Accommodations during tours is quadruple occupancy. Four students share two queen size beds.
